lev radin / Shutterstock.comTen years ago, hardly anyone outside Cuba knew her name. Now? Now Ana de Armas is the kind of actress that keeps casting directors awake at night – in a good sense. She has that one thing you can't train: she can make you think she's completely innocent, and two seconds later you realize she's already three steps ahead of you. These are her ten best films to date. Table of contents

Knives Out (2019)
In a house full of ego and poison, Marta Cabrera is the only character with a moral compass. De Armas does not play her as a victim, but as a woman who is terrified and at the same time does everything to survive. As a viewer you are unconditionally on her side while the rest of the family fights each other out.
Blade Runner 2049 (2017)
In a film that feels cold and distant, Ana provides some much-needed humanity. As the digital Joi, she does not play a simple hologram, but a character that radiates genuine desire and warmth. The tragedy is in the details: you feel that her 'love' is a programmed illusion, but De Armas makes it so real that it almost becomes painful.

No Time to Die (2021)
She doesn't need much screen time to change the tone of this Bond film. Her role as the sensual but funny Paloma is short, but the impact is enormous. After her performance, everyone immediately understood why fans were clamoring for their own spin-off for this character.

Blonde (2022)
In Blonde, de Armas plays Marilyn Monroe not as a polished icon, but as a fragile person who is slowly swallowed up by her own myth. It is a painful, sometimes almost unbearable experience, but that is precisely why her playing remains so incredibly memorable.

From the World of John Wick: Ballerina (2025)
In Ballerina, De Armas enters the bloody world of John Wick with conviction. Not a cheap copy of Keanu Reeves, but a character who, in addition to precision and punches, also brings a good dose of emotion.

Eden (2025)
In this survival thriller by Ron Howard, De Armas is the eye-catcher as the manipulative 'Baroness'. While a group of colonists try to create a utopia on a desert island, they skillfully ruin everything with her arrogant plans for a luxury hotel. With a wonderfully thick accent and a good dose of vanity, she steals every scene in which she appears.

Deep Water (2022)
In this erotic thriller, De Armas plays Melinda, a femme fatale who shoots in all directions. Charming, childish, cruel, suddenly vulnerable, sometimes everything at the same time. She is the mystery here. You keep watching because you're never sure if she's playing, lying, or just doesn't feel bound.

The Gray Man (2022)
Between the booming explosions and the killer pace of this Netflix hit, you would almost forget that there is also some acting involved. Yet De Armas effortlessly remains upright next to muscle groups such as Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans. As Dani Miranda she is not just another sidekick who just looks good; she brings a much-needed dose of humanity to all the violence.

The Informer (2019)
In this grim crime thriller her role is smaller, but functional. The film revolves around double agendas and a man caught between the police and the mafia. Ana makes the film a personal anchor. She gives the hectic a face that has something to lose.

Knock Knock (2015)
A controversial choice, because most people simply thought this film was bad and mainly watched it for the many nude scenes. It's a typical Eli Roth movie in which Keanu Reeves is stalked by two women pretending to be lost hikers. The plot is thin, the moral is unclear and the ending is remarkable to say the least. Who immediately stands out in the films is Ana de Armas, even in this film she jumps off the screen.
