When Pixar released Toy Story in 1995, everything changed. Not only was it the first fully computer-animated feature film, it was also an emotional sledgehammer wrapped in cheerful colors and toy adventures. Beneath the plastic exterior lies a story about friendship, jealousy, growing up and, yes, existential crisis. Across the films, Woody, Buzz and the rest of the toys learn to let go, while kids grow up, parents cry in cinemas and 'To infinity and beyond!' becomes a cultural monument. Toy Story (1995)
The very first fully computer-animated feature, and an instant classic. Woody is Andy's favorite toy cowboy, until high-tech space hero Buzz Lightyear shows up. Rivalry, friendship and that unforgettable 'To infinity and beyond!' make it a timeless favorite.
Toy Story 2 (1999)
A rare sequel that's just as strong as the original. Woody is stolen by a toy collector, and Buzz and the gang set off on a rescue mission. Meanwhile, Woody discovers his past as a famous TV toy. Warm, funny and with Jessie's heartbreaking backstory.
Nowhere near the first one, but still fun.

Toy Story 3 (2010)
Andy has grown up, and his toys have to say goodbye, or survive in a daycare center that's more like a toy prison, with Lotso the bear as an unexpected villain. The ending? A collective lump in the throat, worldwide. It won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature.
10/10 movie without question.

Toy Story 4 (2019)
Nobody asked for it, but Pixar delivered a surprisingly restrained, philosophical fourth film. Woody meets Forky, a craft project struggling with his reason for existing, and reunites with Bo Peep. Less grand than part 3, but with a big heart, and another Oscar.

Toy Story 5 (2026)
Woody, Buzz and the gang return, with Tom Hanks and Tim Allen back in their roles, as the toys face a new kind of rival: technology, in the form of a tablet that competes for a child's attention. After the farewell in part 4, it feels like bonus playtime for a series that has touched multiple generations.
