The Expendables (2010)

Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) leads a team of seasoned mercenaries hired to take out a South American dictator. But the mission turns out to be more complicated than expected when the team gets caught between a rogue CIA operative, a coup and personal conflicts. The film breathed new life into old-school action violence.

#2

The Expendables 2 (2012)

After the death of a team member, the team seeks revenge. Their mission leads to a showdown with arms dealer Jean Vilain (Jean-Claude Van Damme). With the addition of Chuck Norris and more screen time for Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis, it's the most bombastic film in the series.

#3

The Expendables 3 (2014)

Barney replaces his old team with younger fighters to defeat an old enemy: arms dealer Conrad Stonebanks (Mel Gibson), co-founder of The Expendables. The film introduces new faces like Antonio Banderas, Ronda Rousey and Kelsey Grammer, but stays true to its action core.

#4

Expend4bles (2023)

The team gets reinforcements including Megan Fox and 50 Cent to prevent a global crisis. With new faces and even bigger explosions, the fourth film tried to refresh the franchise, but it received mostly negative reactions from fans and critics.
