Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)
This film completely changed the tone of the MCU by opting for a grittier approach. Instead of a standard superhero story, “The Winter Soldier” is a blood-curdling political thriller in the style of the 1970s. Captain America discovers that the organization he trusts is corrupt and being hunted by a mysterious assassin. The raw action scenes and paranoid atmosphere make this one of the most appreciated parts of the series.

When a spell cast by Doctor Strange goes wrong, the “multiverse” is completely broken open. This results in a nostalgic feast for fans, with familiar faces from previous Spider-Man series making an unexpected appearance. It's an emotional rollercoaster that shows why Peter Parker is so loved.

Black Panther (2018)
“Black Panther” was much more than a superhero movie; it became a cultural phenomenon. The film takes us to the hidden, technologically advanced African kingdom of Wakanda where tradition and future collide. Chadwick Boseman stars as King T'Challa, who must defend his throne against the complex villain Killmonger. With its beautiful costumes and deep social themes, this film stands alone within the genre.

Ant Man (2015)
Ant-Man proved that Marvel can turn even their most bizarre characters into successful films. Paul Rudd is perfectly cast as the sympathetic burglar Scott Lang who is given a suit that allows him to shrink. With the size of an ant, its strength increases enormously. The film is smaller in scale than the average superhero film, which makes for a refreshing and, above all, very funny action comedy within the large universe.

This is the Marvel movie that started it all. Robert Downey Jr. instantly became the face of the MCU as the brilliant, sarcastic billionaire Tony Stark. After he is kidnapped, he builds a high-tech suit of armor to escape, marking the birth of Iron Man. The film immediately stood out because of the perfect mix of realism, gadgets and Stark's irresistible charm.

Thor: Ragnarok (2017)
While the first Thor films were still quite serious, director Taika Waititi completely changed course with “Ragnarok”. The Norse god Thor, played by Chris Hemsworth, discovers his comic side in this part. Without his trusty hammer, he is stranded on a garbage dump planet where he must fight his old friend the Hulk. The film is a colorful, psychedelic spectacle full of humor and action, supported by a great 80s soundtrack.
