It all started with a dog. When gangsters kill the last tangible reminder of his late wife, retired hitman John Wick comes out of retirement. What follows isn't a simple revenge mission but a cold, efficient rampage through the underworld. This film shocked Hollywood's system: no shaky cameras or rapid editing to hide bad fighting, but long shots and clean headshots. It laid the foundation for a unique world of gold coins and sharp suits.

John is pulled back into darkness when he has to honor an old 'blood oath'. His journey leads to Rome, where we see just how big the organization behind the assassins really is. Keanu does briefly return, but the film proves the Wick universe can stand on its own.
